If any of you out there are not conversant with the lyrics of 2 Unlimited’s ‘No One’ then you would be mistakenly correct that this is a story about a loser, a nobody. But, in that the song’s chorus it actually depicts something more in keeping with what happens to all of you out there during your self-indulging in fancy, mind wandering, wool gathering, wishing & hoping for something better, alone times! Although, for so many of you out there, your dreams will never come true! –But here, it will be a case of poor John and so many of you out there will be able to relate to his error strewn strides during his error littered life choices!? Well, perhaps all the sad males out there? But, and it is a Big But, definitely not any of the females, for the obvious #metoo reasons!?
Book 1 A story book reference bible for all those losers in life starting with a poignant quote from Villette, written by Charlotte Brontë and spoken by Lucy Howes, who hides her tragic past! “Life is so constructed, that the event does not, cannot, will not, match the expectation.” But, and it is a very important big but, it might, just for a short, but, very memorable time, in your life? (Eh, concealer Mya?)
So, who’s Mya: An eminent Psychologist, who meets this strange man, John, quite by chance, in a crowded restaurant. But she hides something from all those around - but her bluff is called by the circumstances which caused her loosely buttoned dress to pop in front of him, barely all her upper, well-endowed bosom body. Embarrassment ensues, but calm does eventually subdue the couple, who exchange pleasantries and somewhat information, on his part. Being the true Professional that she is, she gives him her Clinician’s card, though not expecting him to attend her offices. Time passes, so no show and calm pervades her working life. Only to be shattered when John, unexpectedly turns up at her Clinic for an afternoon appointment! The memory of their first embarrassing encounter fills her mind and flushed cheeks - what now? His chequered past is laid bare before her, including his escapades, some savage, but all involving violating the female form! Should she continue with him in view of his personal revelations? Can she trust to be alone with him? Should she end it there and then? But, not for the now obvious reason, rather something more personally pertinent to her, which she hides from all. But, and it is a Big But, because she feels he is beginning to guess and if he does then where will it take them? But, until then, in this opening volume he expounds to her his personal strife ...hence the ‘Losers in Life’ opening line he feels so attributable to him and his experiences with those whose paths he crossed and muddied; those he crossed and manhandled; those he crossed and upset: none were excluded whichever part of the Social Scale they belonged to, from the ordinary citizen, to those in high places, to those Royal – ‘Hello Diana’ & Co, who all ultimately looked down on him, or so he felt! So, wherever he went/met, he never felt he belonged! So, Dr Mya Xavier seems his last desperate port of call, but could he keep his hands to himself?
